Life
Decluttering continues!! Dropped off a bunch of stuffed animals to the thrift shop, and plan to drop off a bunch more. It's hard for me to let things go, especially when those things are very cute, but I know it's for the best and I'm proud of the progress I've made so far. Got some plastic bins I'd been storing in the shed that were mostly filled with stuffed animals out, and was glad to see how well they held up over the years. So I worked on disinfecting them and getting them cleaned up for either donation or to go back in my room.
I re-read a bit of the book Decluttering at the Speed of Life by Dana K. White which was highly recommended by the decluttering subreddit. I found it useful, so I decided to buy a physical copy for my mom as well.
School
Actually a pretty chill week at school this week. One of my less-liked classes had a lecture canceled, so I only had it for one day. And two of my other classes had mini-field trips around campus which was a nice change of pace. Even got to see my old boss at an internship I had which was nice.
Website
Got that updates section up! The code is actually pretty simple but I ended up overthinking it so it took me longer than I should have. Also deleted the to-do section for now because I didn't like the way it was coded. I might add it back later.
Reading/Watching/Gaming
Same as the past several weeks with my weekly anime watching session with Lily, the Apothecary Diaries and Lycoris Recoil. I really enjoyed the puzzle of this weeks Apothecary Diaries. I really enjoy seeing people of the past critically interrogate why their own ancestor's did things. This is something we do today, so there's no reason to assume people in the past didn't think about this stuff as well.
For Lycoris Recoil, we finished episodes 6-8. The parallels being set up between Chisato and Majima are interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing how they play out.
Finished scenario B of Linda Cube and started on scenario C. Still fucking love this game. Scenario C starts with the characters' lives going a lot better than they did in the previous scenarios, which has me worried... I doubt they're getting off that easy.
And finally, this week's Paranatural update was everything to me. Read Paranatural.
Around the Web
New section! Stuff I read on other websites that I want to share.
- Thoughts on Umineko by Bobby Schroeder. Came at the perfect time since I just finished Umineko myself and have been wanting to hear other's thoughts on it. Definitely mirrors a lot of my own thoughts.
- In Astris by my friend gaast. A short alien love story that dares to ask, can a rotting flesh homunculus and a beautiful bird thing really fall in love? Some slight violence and body horror elements, but nothing too extreme.
- Kitto² by owls. I'm always thinking how sad it is that a lot of php browser games were never open source, and even if they were, they were made using ancient coding standards that might not be very helpful to learn from nowadays. So I was really exited to learn that the original developer of the virtual pet browser game framework, KittoKittoKitto, is now working on a modern rewrite! Still a work in progress, but I'm excited to play around with it.
